Trinity Health has been at the forefront of enacting meaningful health care reform since 2006. As one of the largest Catholic health systems in the U.S., serving more than 30 million people in 21 states, we are building a People-Centered Health System to put the people we serve at the center of every behavior, action and decision.
As we continue to work with government and health care payors and providers to implement the Affordable Care Act and transform the delivery of health care across the nation, Trinity Health brings to life our commitment to be a compassionate and healing presence in our communities. We advocate for public policies that support better health, better care and lower costs to ensure affordable, high quality, people-centered care for all.
Our roadmap to success has been outlined and directs every aspect of our work. To learn more, please review our Essential Elements of Building a People-Centered Health System.
Trinity Health remains hard at work to ensure that it provides the greatest possible benefit to the millions of Americans who now have access to affordable health care coverage, the millions more who are still awaiting Medicaid expansion in their states, and to health care providers seeking to deliver the best possible care in an environment of health care provision and reimbursement reform. We believe America's health care system should:
- Enact policies that support better health, better care, and lower cost – further People Centered 2020
- Secure coverage expansion
- Sustain Catholic health ministry, including fair payment and tax exemption
